What is this, and is it for me?
Tea tree oil disrupts the membranes of the common skin bacteria that turn sweat into odor. That's a peer-reviewed review of laboratory and clinical data, not a marketing line. It's in here with lemon, on a magnesium and shea butter base.
- Adults leaving aluminum antiperspirants who want something that works on more than underarms
- Anyone who wants magnesium on skin as part of the daily routine
- Practitioners who want a clean topical to hand a patient: ten ingredients, no aluminum, no added fragrance
- This product is used all over the body to combat body odor and sweat build-up. It can be used anywhere you produce sweat or body odor. A little goes a long way.
- If you find any clumping in your armpits later, it will come out easy in the shower or if you wet the area.
- You can also use World Organic Liquid Chlorophyll once a day in the morning as an internal deodorizer to really get things changing fast.
- Patch test on the inside of your arm first if you've reacted to a baking-soda deodorant before.
- We store this product in the cupboard with other products that don't need refrigeration. For best results, use this product within 12 months of opening it.
- Changing why you smell, not covering it. This combination is not meant to only cover the smell you are creating, but rather use deodorizers like magnesium to start changing WHY we smell when we sweat in the first place. Clay and arrowroot take up moisture at the surface; nothing in here blocks a sweat gland.
- Tea tree and lemon do the scent work. A peer-reviewed review of laboratory and clinical data found tea tree oil disrupts the membranes of common skin bacteria, including the ones that turn sweat into odor.
- Built on the lotion, not on a stick. This deodorant uses our Magnesium Lotion as its base, then adds food grade sodium bentonite clay, organic arrowroot powder and a small amount of USP grade baking soda. There is about 250 mg of magnesium in each teaspoon.
- Full body means full body. Chest, back, feet, wherever you want it. A little goes a long way, and clumping rinses out in the shower.
- Baking soda, in a small amount. It is in here for odor. Patch test before you make it a daily habit.
- What people report. The feedback we get most is customers needing deodorant less, producing less smell over time, and managing sweat better when using this product.

What's in the jar
This deodorant uses our Magnesium Lotion as its base, plus three absorbents that turn it into a deodorant.
| Ingredient | Why it's in the jar |
|---|---|
| Zechstein magnesium chloride | Genuine Zechstein Magnesium Chloride. There is about 250 mg of magnesium in each teaspoon. |
| MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) | An organosulfur compound. It's in the jar for skin comfort and for the sulfur it carries. |
| Organic shea butter | The body of the lotion. It's what makes skin still feel soft an hour later. |
| Lab-tested hemp seed oil | 50 to 70 percent linoleic acid, the fatty acid tied to a normal skin moisture barrier. It also keeps the lotion from sitting on top of the skin. |
| White/yellow beeswax | Holds the butter and water phases together without a synthetic emulsifier. |
| Deuterium-depleted distilled water | The carrier for the magnesium chloride. |
| Essential oil blend | Lemon and tea tree are the named oils. |
| Food grade sodium bentonite clay | A cosmetic absorbent. It takes up moisture at the surface, which is what gives the cream its dry finish. |
| Organic arrowroot powder | The other absorbent. It's what keeps the cream from feeling greasy under an arm. |
| USP-grade baking soda | A small amount, for odor. Patch test before daily use. |
About 250 mg of magnesium per teaspoon.

The research behind the ingredients
Published research on the ingredients in this product, for education. These studies were not conducted on this product.
Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) essential oil
Tea tree oil antimicrobial properties review, 2006
Clinical Microbiology Reviews · 2006 · mechanistic review
A peer-reviewed review of laboratory and clinical data reported that tea tree oil disrupts bacterial cell membranes and is active against common skin bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA, with topical clinical use documented in acne and other skin conditions.
Genuine Zechstein Magnesium Chloride (transdermal magnesium)
Effect of transdermal magnesium cream on serum and urinary magnesium levels in humans: A pilot study
PLOS ONE · 2017 · RCT · n=25 enrolled, 24 completed
In a single-blind, parallel-group pilot trial of 25 adults, applying a magnesium cream supplying 56 mg of magnesium daily for two weeks raised serum magnesium by 8.54% versus 2.6% with placebo, reaching statistical significance only in the non-athlete subgroup.
100% Pure Organic White/Yellow Shea Butter
Shea butter emollient cream randomized trial, 2026
Health Research in Africa · 2026 · RCT · n=30
In an open randomized controlled trial of 30 patients with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis, a shea butter-based emollient cream reduced mean SCORAD scores by 68.2% - statistically indistinguishable from a reference emollient (p=0.187) - and was rated excellently tolerated in 96.7% of cases.
Evidence note: Tea tree oil's antibacterial activity against skin flora is documented in a peer-reviewed review of laboratory and clinical work, and shea butter's emollient performance was measured in a 30-person randomized trial of a shea-based cream. Those are the ingredient-level foundations for a cream applied to skin. Body odour itself is the outcome still to be measured: a controlled human odour trial of this cream, or of a bentonite and baking-soda base with lemon and tea tree oils, is what would speak to the deodorant positioning directly.
FAQ
Is this an antiperspirant?
It's a deodorant. Clay and arrowroot absorb moisture at the surface; nothing in here blocks a sweat gland. It works on why you smell, not on covering it.
Can I use it anywhere besides underarms?
Yes. That's the point of the name: anywhere you sweat or want odor control. Let it absorb before dressing, since it can mark clothes.
How much magnesium gets through skin?
A randomized trial saw serum magnesium rise after two weeks of daily magnesium cream. People use it for how it feels on skin, anywhere they sweat.
Will it mark my clothes?
Be aware of using this with certain clothes, that's all - I want to be respectful of those with nice clothes. This product has color from the charcoal, but I don't feel it's hard to avoid any issues as long as you're aware of that.
Pairs well with
- B To The V Lotion — same base, warm spice-and-citrus scent
- Whipped Tallow Lotion — for the skin that takes the most abuse
- BOMB Bath Salts — magnesium in the tub, same mineral, different route
