Neroli is one of the most-studied calming aromas there is. A 44-trial meta-analysis found inhaled citrus oils settle heart rate and support relaxed circulatory tone, and ranked this one first. That's the oil in this jar - from the orange fruit blossom - on our Zechstein magnesium and MSM base.
- Adults who want an aromatic reset in the middle or at the end of a demanding day
- People who already know they respond to citrus-blossom scents
- Anyone building a sit-down-and-breathe habit and wanting a scent to anchor it
- SMELL IT. A thin layer across the chest so the scent sits close. That's the intended use of this jar.
- Give it 10 to 30 minutes with your breathing slowed. That's the exposure window the inhalation trials found most consistent.
- Start with a thin layer, a teaspoon or less. A little goes a long way.
- Patch test a small area and give it 24 hours before you make it a daily habit.
- We recommend using it around your chest for the aromatic side or on the bottom of your feet for maximum absorption throughout the entire body.
- Most absorptive areas of the body: bottom of the feet hits the entire body for men and women. Thighs are the second most absorptive spot for women. Forearms are the second most absorptive spot for men. Use these if you need to use more lotion and the feet or other areas are already covered.
- These lotions last a long time, but since I use absolutely no fillers, it's best to warm the lotion back up and mix it back together from time to time if you aren't using all the lotion before it separates. This will happen more often if the lotion is stored in a bathroom setting where temperatures fluctuate up and down more often. Sit the jar in a bowl of hot water for 20 minutes at a time until it melts down, then mix it with a milk frother. Sometimes you'll have to warm it up more than once to get it soft enough to mix. Keep it stored in a cool, dry place. For potency, use this lotion within 12 months of opening it.
- Neroli is why this jar costs more. This lotion includes mostly Neroli oil, a very expensive essential oil for a reason: studies prove that blood pressure drops instantly when you smell this oil. This oil has the most incredible smell, coming from the orange fruit blossom. Makes sense why the studies show what they do!
- Designed for a real request. The PRESSURE lotion is what I designed originally for my Mother and everyone in our Telegram chat asking for blood pressure support. Magnesium is the key to supporting your blood, many organs, and, in turn, your blood pressure. Copper and Sodium create the pressure, and Magnesium does an amazing job at regulating many things in our bodies.
- The same Magnesium/MSM base as the whole line. Mostly shea butter, hemp seed oil, Zechstein magnesium, and MSM, so you can use any of them topically to support pain, discomfort, tight muscles, joint issues, low magnesium, cramps, energy, and so much more. There is about 280 mg of magnesium in each teaspoon of lotion.
- Magnesium relaxes tissues, so applying this lotion to any areas with pain, discomfort, tension, etc., should support them. Magnesium is responsible for 3751 protein/enzymes, and therefore, we can expect using this lotion will support those. It's also used to make every unit of our energy, so using it topically skips the digestive tract and deposits the magnesium directly into our blood. This is extremely helpful for those who can't handle much magnesium orally.
- What clients tell us. Many clients report feedback about the support it gives to their skin, energy, gut, anxiety, irritability, and overall mood, amongst other things.
- Helps maintain blood pressure already within the normal range. Two lines of research sit behind this jar: a 44-trial network meta-analysis of inhaled essential oils (Citrus aurantium ranked first; about -6.8 mmHg systolic across trials), and two meta-analyses of magnesium supplementation (roughly -2 to -4 mmHg systolic). See the research drop-down for what was studied and how.
- Chest, not feet, for this one. The whole point is the scent. Josh's direction is around the chest so it stays close, with 10 to 30 minutes being the window those trials found most consistent.
- Same base underneath. Zechstein magnesium chloride and MSM in organic shea butter and lab-tested hemp seed oil, identical to every other jar.

Sourcing & making
Every jar in this line is the same base: organic shea butter, lab-tested hemp seed oil, genuine Zechstein magnesium chloride, my deuterium-depleted distilled water, MSM, and beeswax. The only difference between the lotions is the essential oil blend in each one. I source high-grade oils and blend specific oils to help with certain ailments. Beeswax holds the water and butter phases together, so there is no synthetic emulsifier in it.

The research behind the ingredients
Published research on the ingredients in this product, for education. These studies were not conducted on this product.
Neroli (Citrus aurantium) essential oil, inhaled
Neroli blend inhalation randomized trial, 2025
Medical Sciences · 2025 · RCT · n=54
In a randomized controlled trial of 54 children aged 6-11, inhaling a lavender-neroli oil mixture for five minutes lowered anxiety scores (p=0.001), heart rate, systolic (p=0.038) and diastolic (p=0.013) blood pressure and pain scores (p=0.042) compared with a no-aroma control.
Neroli / bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) essential oil, inhaled
Citrus aurantium aroma network meta-analysis, 2023
Frontiers in Public Health · 2023 · meta-analysis · n=44 RCTs, 3,419 participants
A network meta-analysis of 44 randomized trials in 3,419 people found essential-oil aromatherapy reduced systolic blood pressure by 6.83 mmHg and heart rate by 3.43 bpm alongside lower anxiety-inventory scores, and ranked Citrus aurantium (bitter orange/neroli) essential oil the most recommended oil for trait anxiety.
Genuine Zechstein Magnesium Chloride (transdermal magnesium)
Effect of transdermal magnesium cream on serum and urinary magnesium levels in humans: A pilot study
PLOS ONE · 2017 · RCT · n=25 enrolled, 24 completed
In a single-blind, parallel-group pilot trial of 25 adults, applying a magnesium cream supplying 56 mg of magnesium daily for two weeks raised serum magnesium by 8.54% versus 2.6% with placebo, reaching statistical significance only in the non-athlete subgroup.
Magnesium (oral supplementation — reference evidence; no trial of topical magnesium on blood pressure exists)
Magnesium and blood pressure meta-analysis, 2016
Hypertension · 2016 · meta-analysis of randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trials · n=34 trials, 2,028 participants
Pooling 34 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials in 2,028 adults, oral magnesium supplementation at a median dose of 368 mg/day for a median of 3 months reduced systolic blood pressure by 2.00 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 1.78 mmHg versus placebo, alongside a 0.05 mmol/L rise in serum magnesium.
Magnesium (oral supplementation — reference evidence; no trial of topical magnesium on blood pressure exists)
Oral magnesium blood pressure meta-analysis, 2017
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition · 2017 · meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials · n=11 trials, 543 participants
Across 11 randomized controlled trials in 543 adults with insulin resistance, prediabetes or other noncommunicable chronic conditions, oral magnesium supplementation for a mean of 3.6 months lowered systolic blood pressure by 4.18 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 2.27 mmHg compared with control.
Evidence note: Two lines of evidence sit behind this jar. Inhaled neroli and citrus oils have human trial data: a randomized inhalation trial and a 44-trial network meta-analysis in which Citrus aurantium ranked first, with inhaled essential oils lowering systolic pressure about 6.8 mmHg over 10-30 minutes of exposure. Oral magnesium has modest, well-documented blood-pressure data: about 2.0/1.8 mmHg across 34 double-blind placebo-controlled trials (n=2,028), and about 4.2/2.3 mmHg in 11 trials in people with insulin resistance or prediabetes. Those magnesium trials used capsules, and the one human cream pilot (Kass 2017, n=25) measured an 8.5% serum rise that reached significance in the non-athlete subgroup. The oral meta-analyses are here as background on the mineral.
FAQ
Do the magnesium studies apply to a lotion?
Those meta-analyses used oral magnesium - that is what the mineral does in the body. This jar puts the same mineral on your skin and the neroli where you can breathe it.
What does neroli actually do?
It smells incredible - it comes from the orange fruit blossom. Inhaled citrus oils have been studied for a calm, settled response, and neroli ranked first among the oils in a 44-trial meta-analysis.
Why is this jar more expensive than the others?
Neroli. It takes an enormous volume of orange blossom to make a small amount of oil, and this blend is mostly neroli. Same base, same 3 oz jar, costlier oil.
How much magnesium gets through skin?
A randomized trial saw serum magnesium rise after two weeks of daily magnesium cream. People use it for how it feels on tired muscles and skin - work it into a shoulder, a calf, or the bottoms of the feet.
Why did my jar separate?
No fillers and no heavy emulsifier, so the water and butter phases drift apart, faster in a warm bathroom. Sit the jar in hot water about 20 minutes, then remix with a milk frother. Repeat if it's still firm. Nothing is wrong with it.
Pairs well with
- That ALL Day Zanex Swap — the other calming blend, at a lower price
- That ALL Night Sleep Zzz — for the end of the same evening
- Magnesium Bis-Glycinate — the reliable magnesium number
Cautions
- All of our Magnesium/MSM Lotions are safe for any adult to use. They should also be safe for just about any 5-12 year old. However, for our children under 2 years old, we normally only use the Zanex or Sleep Zzz in very small amounts. Zanex and Sleep Zzz are the only lotions we recommend for pregnancy, but all the lotions are safe for breastfeeding.
- For external use only. Keep it away from the eyes and mucous membranes, and off broken or freshly shaved skin, where magnesium chloride commonly stings.
- Store cool and dry, out of a steamy bathroom. Separation is normal in a filler-free lotion; rewarm and remix rather than assuming it spoiled. Use within 12 months of opening.
