What is this, and is it for me?
Magnesium, calcium, sodium, and potassium in bicarbonate form, designed to mirror the electrolytes naturally found in the blood. 3,751 human proteins bind magnesium (the human magnesome), including the ones that make ATP and the ones that keep nerve and muscle signaling normal. Carbonate it, chill it, sip it all day.
- Adults who won't take capsules consistently but will drink a cold bottle of mineral water
- Practitioners who want a client's magnesium spread across the day in small repeated amounts
- Anyone already carbonating water at home who wants something in it besides bubbles
- With a home carbonation machine (recommended): add 1-2 teaspoons of powder to a liter of cold, distilled/RO/DI water before carbonating. Start with 1 teaspoon. Carbonate as usual, shake thoroughly, and refrigerate overnight.
- With store-bought carbonated water: use bottles labeled plain 'Carbonated Water', not mineral water. Pour off 1 to 2 oz, add 1 teaspoon, reseal and shake, crack the cap to vent, reseal, shake again, refrigerate overnight.
- Drink it in small 1-3 oz servings throughout the day instead of large amounts at once. That's the whole method.
- Start at 1 teaspoon per liter. Move to 2 only if you want more and you tolerate the first.
- Important: Do not use this as your sole magnesium source. Pair with magnesium from other forms (Malate, Bis-Glycinate, baths, lotions) for full daily needs.
- Not recommended for children unless under practitioner guidance.
- Magnesium carries this one. The label declares 800 mg of magnesium hydroxide per teaspoon, alongside 20 mg each of calcium hydroxide, sodium bicarbonate, and potassium bicarbonate, designed to mirror the electrolytes naturally found in the blood. Magnesium is a cofactor in hundreds of enzyme reactions, including ATP production and normal nerve and muscle signaling.
- Sipped, not slammed. A liter carbonated in the evening, drunk in 1 to 2 oz portions across the next day. Dividing the dose is the practical way around the digestive upset that comes with one large amount of magnesium.
- Bicarbonate is the carrier. Potassium bicarbonate has been studied in controlled metabolic balance work for its role in the body's normal acid-base and mineral balance. Sodium bicarbonate has its own literature in working muscles during repeated effort.
- Formulated to support energy and mental clarity (brain fog, memory, confusion), muscle function (twitching, cramps, spasms), gut and digestion, acid reflux balance, PMS or hormone-related discomfort, headaches, dizziness and nervous tension, and balanced hydration and electrolyte levels.
- One part of a magnesium plan, not all of it. Josh is explicit about this: pair it with capsules, baths, or lotion. Don't make it your only source.

What you're getting (approximate)
Per 1 teaspoon (~860 mg powder) mixed into 1 liter carbonated water. Label figures come from our label; estimates come from published food-composition data applied to this serving size.
| Nutrient | Per serving | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Magnesium (elemental) | ~330 mg per teaspoon/liter; ~10 mg per 1 oz sip | Estimate |
| Calcium (elemental) | ~11 mg per teaspoon/liter | Estimate |
| Potassium (elemental) | ~8 mg per teaspoon/liter | Estimate |
| Sodium (elemental) | ~5.5 mg per teaspoon/liter | Estimate |

Sourcing & making
Four mineral salts and an anti-caking agent. Magnesium hydroxide does most of the work; the calcium, sodium, and potassium bicarbonates are present in small amounts, designed to mirror the electrolytes naturally found in the blood. Nothing is flavored, sweetened, or colored, which is why the carbonated water matters to the taste as much as to the mixing.
Full ingredients

Sodium bicarbonate
Sports Medicine · 2020 · meta-analysis · n=13 endurance studies; 11 strength studies
A systematic review and meta-analysis of 13 muscular-endurance and 11 muscular-strength studies found that acute sodium bicarbonate supplementation improved muscular endurance (SMD 0.37, p = 0.001) but not muscular strength.
Potassium bicarbonate
The New England Journal of Medicine · 1994 · controlled metabolic balance trial · n=18
In a controlled metabolic balance study of 18 postmenopausal women, 60–120 mmol/day of potassium bicarbonate for 18 days neutralized endogenous acid, improved calcium and phosphorus balance, raised serum osteocalcin and lowered urinary hydroxyproline.
Magnesium (as magnesium hydroxide)
Magnesium physiology review, 2015
Physiological Reviews · 2015 · mechanistic review
A comprehensive physiology review describing magnesium as a required cofactor across a wide range of enzymatic reactions, including ATP-dependent energy metabolism and normal nerve and muscle signaling.
Evidence note: Strong for the individual minerals, each with human trial or well-characterized mechanistic evidence. This particular blend and its ratios have not yet been studied as a formula, so the page reports what each mineral does and what the serving delivers.
FAQ
Why does it have to be carbonated water?
When mixed properly with carbonated water, the minerals become highly bioavailable for optimal absorption. Magnesium hydroxide is only slightly soluble in plain water, and the overnight rest in the fridge gives it time to go into solution.
How much magnesium is in a teaspoon?
The label declares 800 mg of magnesium hydroxide per teaspoon. That is why you sip it across a liter, and why you count it against your other magnesium.
Why so little sodium and potassium?
The bicarbonate salts come in at 20 mg each per teaspoon; magnesium is what this powder is built around. When sodium and potassium are the goal, reach for Salt of Life and a dedicated potassium bicarbonate powder.
What's the silica for?
Keeping the powder free-flowing. The label lists it as an anti-caking agent with additional benefits.
How long does a pack last?
The label lists 75 servings, or 150 servings at 400 mg. Stored cool, dry, and away from light, this product is shelf-stable and may last for years, if not indefinitely.
What do people notice?
Customer feedback highlights support for brain fog, memory, muscle twitching, cramps, nausea, bowel regularity, and overall energy. Many report feeling clearer and more balanced as electrolytes are replenished.
