What is this, and is it for me?
A network meta-analysis of 44 inhalation trials found essential-oil aroma settled heart rate and supported a calmer response to daily stress, most consistently at 10 to 30 minutes of exposure. Way Walker is a blend of that kind - oils of inspiration, drive, and motivation - in a magnesium base.
- Anyone starting a new routine and wanting a consistent cue to hang it on
- People who want a daytime jar built around inspiration, drive, and motivation
- Existing lotion customers looking for a daytime jar
- We recommend using it around your chest for the aromatic side or on the bottom of your feet for maximum absorption throughout the entire body.
- Most absorptive areas of the body: bottom of the feet hits the entire body for men and women. Thighs are the second most absorptive spot for women. Forearms are the second most absorptive spot for men. Use these if you need to use more lotion and the feet or other areas are already covered.
- Put it on at the same point every day - the front end of the routine you're trying to build. Start with a thin layer, a teaspoon or less. A little goes a long way.
- BY POPULAR DEMAND, ALL of our Magnesium/MSM lotions will come in High Potency for the same low price! Get all the best benefits in any of our lotions.
- These lotions last a long time, but since I use absolutely no fillers, it's best to warm the lotion back up and mix it back together from time to time if you aren't using all the lotion before it separates. This will happen more often if the lotion is stored in a bathroom setting where temperatures fluctuate up and down more often. I recommend setting the lotion in a bowl with hot water for 20 minutes at a time until the lotion has melted down and then mixing it with a milk frother. Sometimes you'll have to warm it up more than once to get it soft enough to mix.
- Oils of inspiration, drive, and motivation. Way Walker is an oil blend I found and love. It is meant to be oils of inspiration, drive, and motivation. Basically, it's a MEME for inspiring change in your life but in essential oil form, haha!
- Aromatic use has a real literature. A network meta-analysis of 44 inhalation trials found essential-oil aroma supported a calmer nervous-system response, with 10 to 30 minutes of exposure the most consistent window.
- Chest for the scent, feet for the rest. Josh's direction across the whole line: chest if you want to smell it, bottoms of the feet if you want it everywhere.
- Same base as every other jar. Our entire lineup of Magnesium and MSM Lotions has a base of mostly Shea Butter, Hemp Seed Oil, Zechstein Magnesium, and MSM, so you can use any of them topically to support pain, discomfort, tight muscles, joint issues, low magnesium, cramps, energy, and so much more. There is about 280mg of Magnesium in each teaspoon of lotion.
- What can I expect? Magnesium relaxes tissues, so applying this lotion to any areas with pain, discomfort, tension, etc., should support them. Magnesium is responsible for 3751 protein/enzymes, and therefore, we can expect using this lotion will support those. It's also used to make every unit of our energy so using it topically skips the digestive tract and deposits the Magnesium directly into our blood. This is extremely helpful for those who can't handle much magnesium orally. Many clients report feedback about the support it gives to their skin, energy, gut, anxiety, irritability, and overall mood, amongst other things.

Sourcing & making
Every jar in this line is the same base: organic shea butter, lab-tested hemp seed oil, genuine Zechstein magnesium chloride, my deuterium-depleted distilled water, MSM, and beeswax. The only difference between the lotions is the essential oil blend in each one. I source high-grade oils and blend specific oils to help with certain ailments. Beeswax holds the water and butter phases together, so there is no synthetic emulsifier in it.

Essential Oil Blend
Essential oils and calm: network meta-analysis, 2023
Frontiers in Public Health · 2023 · meta-analysis · n=44 RCTs, 3,419 participants
A network meta-analysis of 44 randomized trials in 3,419 people found essential-oil aromatherapy lowered State (WMD -6.63) and Trait (WMD -4.97) Anxiety Inventory scores and reduced systolic blood pressure by 6.83 mmHg and heart rate by 3.43 bpm, with 10-30 minutes of exposure producing the most consistent effect.
Genuine Zechstein Magnesium Chloride (magnesium)
Magnesium and subjective stress review, 2017
Nutrients · 2017 · systematic review · n=18 studies
A systematic review of 18 studies found the existing evidence suggestive of a beneficial effect of magnesium supplementation on subjective anxiety in anxiety-vulnerable groups, while judging the overall quality of that evidence to be poor.
Genuine Zechstein Magnesium Chloride (transdermal magnesium)
Effect of transdermal magnesium cream on serum and urinary magnesium levels in humans: A pilot study
PLOS ONE · 2017 · RCT · n=25 enrolled, 24 completed
In a single-blind, parallel-group pilot trial of 25 adults, applying a magnesium cream supplying 56 mg of magnesium daily for two weeks raised serum magnesium by 8.54% versus 2.6% with placebo, reaching statistical significance only in the non-athlete subgroup.
Evidence note: The aromatherapy and magnesium literature here supports a calmer, more settled state: a 44-trial network meta-analysis of inhalation and a systematic review of magnesium and subjective stress. Motivation and drive are outcomes that remain to be measured, and this blend's oils would need disclosing before a study could be matched to them.
FAQ
What's a scent cue?
Using the same smell at the same point each day, until the smell starts marking the habit. The aroma itself has a literature behind it: a network meta-analysis of 44 inhalation trials found essential-oil aroma settled heart rate and supported a calmer response, most consistently at 10 to 30 minutes of exposure.
Is the base the same as the other jars?
Yes. Shea butter, hemp seed oil, Zechstein magnesium chloride, distilled water, MSM and beeswax across the whole line. Only the essential oil blend changes. Pick by scent and by where you want to use it.
How much magnesium gets through skin?
A randomized trial saw serum magnesium rise after two weeks of daily magnesium cream. People use it for how it feels on tired muscles and skin - work it into a shoulder, a calf, or the bottoms of the feet.
Why did my jar separate?
No fillers and no heavy emulsifier, so the water and butter phases drift apart, faster in a warm bathroom. Sit the jar in hot water about 20 minutes, then remix with a milk frother. Repeat if it's still firm. Nothing is wrong with it.
Can kids use it? What about pregnancy?
All of our Magnesium/MSM Lotions are safe for any adult to use. They should also be safe for just about any 5-12 year old. For our children under 2 years old, we normally only use the Zanex or Sleep Zzz in very small amounts. Zanex and Sleep Zzz are the only lotions we recommend for pregnancy, but all the lotions are safe for breastfeeding.
